The Beau Marché de Toucy is an ancestral tradition. The town is adorned with its finest attire to welcome you and receive the breeders from the surrounding area. The highlight of the festival is undoubtedly the “picket parade”. Ribboned, draft horses such as Percherons, Comtois or Cobs parade through the streets, under the amazed eyes of young and old alike.
The beautiful Toucy market: an unmissable event in Puisaye-Forterre
The Beau Marché, organized on the Saturday of Palm Sunday weekend, is one of the oldest markets in the department which attracts thousands of visitors each year. In the morning, the weekly market takes place in the town center, with an additional presentation, on rue du Pâtis, of farm animals: horses, pigs, sheep, chickens... The local breeders will be proud to show you their livestock! In the multipurpose room, the poultry show is worth the detour, with more than 200 cages of pigeons, doves, chickens, and other birds. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the entertainment, the picket parade, the funfair and the brass band.
The Beau Marché de Toucy always takes place on the Saturday before the Easter weekend.
