A day of conviviality was conducted by the Puisaye-Forterre Tourist Office on Thursday October, 12th.
Nathalie Brochut, head of the Tourism office « Coeur de Puisaye » the employees and the volunteers of the Tourist Offices as well as a large number of partners, attended this joyous day.
We discovered a bed and breakfast and unusual accommodations to start the day
We’ve been warmly greeted at la Maison Bleue à Arquian by the owner, who had prepared a typical breakfast with homemade products. We went on with the visit of her guest house. It consists of 3 bedrooms in the main house and there’s a small dependency in a beautiful landscaped garden.
Then we went to le Domaine des Galants in Saint-Vérain. Here in the woods we’ve found four cozy nests, unusual accommodations perched in the trees.It is a magical place for everyone as it enables you to sleep in the heart of nature in a very comfy way. Breakfast is brought to you 6 meters above the ground on the house terrace.
To continue we had Lunch and visited Treigny
We all had lunch at le Café du Bal à Treigny,, we had a digestive walk in the lively village of Treigny. We were introduced to the future hostel, to the personalized motorhome campers area, and to the new Tourist Office building.
To finish we head to Saint-Sauveur and saint-Fargeau
In the early afternoon we went to “la Poèterie” at St Sauveur. This industrial wasteland of a former brick and tiling factory (Mativet’s then Aléonard’s) became an artist village in 2006. It is also a welcome centre and tourist residency. There are 2 lodgins with 13 rooms in all, and a large reception room. In the same time, we discovered Le Café de la Poèterie. It’s a meeting place for artists run by an association. It’s goal is to revitalise the rural environment and to promote cultural diversity through a variety of programs.
We ended the day at l’Hôtel des Grands Chênes, the only 3 stars hotel in Puisaye. It has 17 rooms amonst which 4 small cottages located in the hotel park. There is a swimming pool, a “boules” area and a beautiful park for guests’ enjoyment.
The participants were unanimously with the day and we’re likely to renew this operation.
