In an old restaurant, Nicolas and Selin Delabre have decided in 2008 to open Le Bellovidère, a theater in the small village of Beauvoir, 7 km from Toucy.
A bold and sucessful project
The owners’ involvement in the local life and the pride the villagers take in their theater has enabled this entertainment place “to quietly grow” as Nicolas says so well.
Every summer and winter, “Le Bello” rustles up a colourful program. Theater and also music, poetry, clowns … there is something for everyone.
Now, every show is full up and reservations are necessary.
A place for creation and an artist’s residence
Le Bellovidère is also a place for creation and an artist’s residence
The desire of the owners to maintain access to cultural life to all in the heart of a rural environment, makes this place friendly warm and human.
My favourite thing with « le Bello » :
In summer, the village-centre is the stage. You can order a meal tray, eat under the lantern-decorated trees before settling down to enjoy the show.
I particularly like the village-centre. It becomes in the summer time the centre of the village’s cultural life and its surroundings. It feels good, as if you had invited a theater troupe in your own garden !
