Musée d’Art et d’Histoire de Puisaye
Description
Housed in a beautiful 18th century bourgeois house transformed into a museum. On the ground floor, there is a reconstruction of a bourgeois Poyaudine kitchen. A library with a 16th century money-changer's table. A dining room with a painting attributed to Hyacinthe Rigaud (1659-1743), a collection of ceramics, an art-nouveau sideboard designed by Paul Huillard, architect and decorator, who donated the museum to the commune, as well as a chest of drawers, a shepherd's hutch and a carpet (deposited by the Mobilier National on 20 January 2022). The partnership concluded on this occasion with the town hall has a profound meaning: it shows that, far from being reserved for our leaders, the Mobilier National is first and foremost the Furniture of the Nation.
