This project was born from the observation that our accommodation park is already active in this approach of saving resources, recycling, sharing and raising awareness.

During the first edition of the meetings of tourism stakeholders in March 2021, the Tourist Office and the Community of Communes of Puisaye-Forterre opened a working committee made up of employees of these two structures and local accommodation providers (camping, guest rooms and furnished). Commitment to the Puisaye-Forterre accommodation charter for sustainable and responsible tourism is a voluntary approach..

The Tourist Office and the Community of Communes of Puisaye-Forterre are committed to networking tourist accommodation providers, sensitive to the tourism of tomorrow, by allowing them to commit themselves collectively to an approach to environmental progress.

This charter is intended to be a first step to position accommodation providers as players in sustainable tourism without claiming to replace the obtaining of recognized national or international ecological labels. “If the great initial intentions do not seem threatened, travel intentions seem tinged with new requirements since almost 72% of travelers surveyed say they will be more vigilant this year, to choose trips and destinations that are more respectful of local development, sustainability and short circuits…” (elloha article from 11/12/2022 link

This charter aims to:

  • raise awareness among our network of partners and more broadly all hosts in Puisaye-Forterre and encourage them to adopt an approach to progress.
  • give visibility to sustainable actions implemented in their structures.
  • bring together a network of committed actors.
  • raise awareness among its customers because every gesture counts!
