Description
Departure from Place de l'Église at the foot of the Battle Museum.
(D/A) Opposite the restaurant, turn left onto the D1, direction Leugny – Auxerre for 400 m. Leave the cemetery on the right and continue on the right shoulder of the road.
(1) Arriving at the industrial buildings located on the left, turn right onto the dirt road. Walk along the Saint-Bonnet stream and cross it at one point. At the crossroads with a path coming from the left, continue straight ahead and reach the next one.
(2) Turn right and climb slowly due west, arrive on the small road which leads to Solmet, take a right-left turn to join the stony path. Join the D3 passing old statues on the right.
(3) Arriving at the intersection with the D3, turn right. The obelisk is erected on the left hand.
After learning about the history of this place, take the grassy path on the left and head towards the center of the village of Fontenoy, passing at the foot of Les Gisants.
(4) Continue to descend to reach the town of Fontenoy (D/A).
