Description
Departure from the Lainsecq Fairgrounds car park.
(D/A) From the bus shelter, cross the road and turn left onto Rue du Muguet (north-east direction) which runs along a wall (rings are sealed and used to tie up livestock on fair days). Keep this street until you reach the last houses in the village. Continue and, at the crow's feet, turn left.
(1) At the entrance to the woods, turn left. Follow the edge of the woods, then enter the woods at the crossroads. Access the asphalt road. Turn left. The road ends quickly along the way. Continue right.
(2) At the curve on the left, join a cross road. Go left.
(3) Turn onto the path on the right and reach the edge of the woods. Follow it until the next cross path.
(4) Turn right and go straight down to the tarmac lane. Take it from the right, 150m later, turn left at the bend. Cross the village of Sougères-en-Puisaye, keeping a south-east heading.
(5) Shortly after Simons, turn right twice in a row to take a path. Go up to the next road to turn left. Continue the climb and turn at the first path on the left (pedestrian markers on the ground).
(6) In front of a pile of stones on which a cairn sits, head into the undergrowth. As soon as a field appears on the right, turn right and continue along the edge of the woods.
(7) At the road (cross on the right), turn left onto the dirt road and end up on Rue des Carrouges. Go right and go up this street. At the pond on the left, a right/left takes you onto an old Roman road.
(8) Take this very stony old Roman road during the climb. Keep it as the main path until you reach the summit sign indicating “Montagne des Alouettes 365m”.
(9) Shortly after, turn onto the right path, then left at the next crossroads. Leave the old left hand mill.
(10) In the middle of the plain (pedestrian marking point on the ground), go to the right on a descending path to turn at the next intersection on the left. Still descending, this portion of the path ends at Guillons du Ravan on a street. Keep this street, keeping to the left.
(11) Cross the road (D6) and take the path opposite, flanked by a hedge (young in 2018) on the right. At the intersection with a path coming from the left, go right, finding a tarmac portion. Cross the Villeneuve, then the cross road.
(12) Go straight ahead to reach a crossroads. Turn onto the right path. The climb leads back to the D6 previously crossed.
(13) Go opposite on the path. At the cross wooded strip, turn left and continue to reach a tarmac road.
(14) Turn left to cross Champ Martin Bas. Reach and cross the D6 straight on. Leave one lane to go left and one lane to go right. Follow this road, leaving the farm and the Château de Beauvais on the left.
(15) Cross the D3 towards Moulin Barjot and go straight to the crossroads leading to the houses of this hamlet. At the bottom of the descent, let the road on the right which serves Les Guirtelles pass. Go up this lane, leaving the lanes on the left. Reach Montreparé and cross between a farm and the houses. Go down, reaching the middle of the hamlet of Chappe.
(16) Turn at the fire hydrant (located on the left), onto the small signposted lane “Source de la Pisserotte”.
(17) After visiting the 3 sources (la Pisserotte, le Bouillon, la Vigueur), turn around.
(16) Turn left, go down a few meters and go to the right.
(18) At the Croix de la Guirtelle, go straight ahead. At the intersection of 4 streets, turn left. Then second on the right, next on the left. Cut the D6 and reach the car park (D/A).
