Parcours découverte La Villéon en Puisaye

Marked hike No. 61. Emmanuel de La Villéon (1848-1944) is a painter of Breton origin (Fougères, where he has his museum) who lived from 1900 to 1936 in a mansion in the hamlet of Salvard.

Description

Park in the village hall car park.

(D/A) From the car park, take the dirt road (west side) bordered by composters and the bowling green.
At the intersection with the asphalt road, turn right and continue straight on to a place called Les Salvards.

(1) In front of the entrance to the park of the Maison les Salvards (panel 1), place where the painter lived and, currently a guesthouse, take the dirt road on the left (portion of GR®3, marked White and Red) which will take you to the Ligers from where you have a perspective on the valleys (panel 2).

(2) At the intersection with the asphalt road D2, take it on the right. Pass in front of the old station (on the right) which has become a private residence (panel 3) and continue to the Étang des Chênes. Take the road on the left in front of Étang des Chênes and cross the bridge. A little further on, turn right onto the stone path. Follow the Maloise. At the level of the private road which goes left, turn slightly to the right to follow the Maloise to the Cannerie footbridge (sign 4).

(3) Cross the D2 and take the asphalt road opposite that goes to Les Guimards. Arriving in front of the Guimards pottery, go around it to the left, then take the first right, passing a hill (panel 5).

(4) Continue and leave the path leading to the pottery store. Arriving at an intersection, turn left.

(5) Turn left again (panel 6) and continue to Les Salvards.

(1) Take the first road on the left after entering the park, continue passing in front of the farm buildings of the mansion (itself visible at the end of the alley which passes through the middle of the agricultural buildings). Arriving at the intersection with the D514, turn left then, after about twenty meters, turn right and follow the tarmac road to Les Beauchats.

(6) Turn left to cross the hamlet, follow the pond (sign 7), then continue left on the same road.

(7) Pass in front of the Chapelle Saint-Marc (sign) and reach Bitry.

(8)Arriving in Bitry, go around the church to the right (west facade with sign) then go up to the road (D 114). Turn right to the starting car park (D/A).
