Marked hike No. 39. From the XNUMXth century castle at the very beginning of the route to the remains of the Château de Maison Fort, the circuit allows you to discover the ponds including the largest, the Étang de la Forge and the Chemin du Tacot.

Description
The start of this hike is Avenue de la Gare, very close to the Tourist Office.
(D/A) Head towards the castle, cross the Grande Rue, enter the park grounds. Go around the building to the right. At the end of the gable, turn right and continue through the wooded part towards the buildings at the back (retirement home). After the pond on the right, turn left passing downstream of the car park and then right in sight of the stairs. Access to the car park ends with the Allée des Amours to go up to join the Route des Thus.
(1) Cross the crossroads and go straight on into Rue Noire. Reach the Route de Dampierre (D957).
(2) Carefully cross the D957 and continue on the road opposite. Arriving at the start of a square curve, turn left onto the path (Ancienne Voie Romaine d'Orléans à Autun).
(3) Turn right. Leave the side paths to reach Chante-Merle. Cross this place, reach a cross road.
(4) Go left until the next crossroads. Turn right towards Les Chaboureaux.
At the place called, keep the main road to cross the village. It ends on a cross road to take on the left for approximately 200 m.
(5) Turn right onto the path lined with hedges which leads further onto a road.
(6) Turn right and immediately left onto the small tarmac lane. Reach House Fort.
(7) At the bend (private road opposite), turn left while keeping the road to take the path on the right shortly after.
(8) Turn right for around fifty meters. Take the dirt road on the left, without crossing the old dike with the very wild pond on the right. Walk along the Étang de la Forge, keeping it on the right. Cross the Maison Fort stream on the footbridge. Turn right onto a wide path. Reach the D955 road.
(9) Cross this road with caution. Turn right for 10 m then left to continue along Chemin du Tacot. Continue straight ahead, leaving the side paths to arrive at the starting point (D/A).
