Description
Departure from the locks car park, Rue Hugues Cosnier.
(D/A) With your back to the car park, go right and cross the bridge which spans the canal. At the exit, immediately take the path which goes down to the foot of the locks, the canal will be on the left. Arriving at the foot of these locks, continue straight ahead, still following the canal. At the intersection with the main road, turn right and continue Rue André Henriat. Leave Rue Henri IV on the right, reach a crossroads.
(1) Turn right towards Breteau (Rue des Postillons). At the fork, press to the right. Leave this route in the big curve and take it again after having covered a few meters on the grassy part. At the next fork, take the road on the right, pass in front of the gates and surrounding wall of the Château de la Brenellerie. Reach a crossroads with a cross slightly hidden in the vegetation.
(2) At this crossroads, go straight on, leaving Brenellerie on the right. Continue leaving Les Caillats on the left.
(3) Before crossing the Rigole de Saint-Privé, leave the road to go right onto the path and continue.
(4) At the end, cross the channel and immediately go left to meet a cross path. Take it to the right.
(5) Make a right-left turn and stay on the edge of the woods. Arrive on a paved road.
(6) Turn right, leaving Grand Chaloy opposite. Join the Pont des Révalleries. Cross this bridge which spans the Rigole de Saint-Privé.
(7) Turn left, keeping the path which runs along the gutter (a stud farm is on the right).
(8) Go left towards the silos. In front of the Briare Canal, turn right, pass under the D14 bridge. Continue on the towpath.
(9) Continue while always keeping the towpath. Pass the Racault Lock, the Saint-Joseph Lock then the Chante-Pinot Lock.
(10) Arrive at the crossroads, cross carefully then turn right without crossing the bridge. Pass the chicane to join the pedestrian path. Go down with the seven old locks on the right hand side. Join Rue André Henriat.
Turn left without crossing this street. After the bridge, reach the car park on the left by taking the path along the canal (D/A).
