Le Ferrier de la Garenne

Marked hike No. 4. Visit the Tannerre-en-Puisaye Ferrier, one of the largest in France and dating from the Gallic era.

Description

The start of this hike is located in the town hall parking lot.
(D/A) At the exit of the town hall courtyard, head towards the village with the church in sight. After the Branlin bridge, take Grande Rue on the right (in the direction of traffic). The church being on the left, arrive on a side street (Rue Carreau). Turn left and continue on this street to, after No. 16, take the path on the right. Pass under a portico and walk between the gardens and a hedge on the left. Arrive at a junction of paths.

(1) Take the path on the left and pass the rails which are stored on the right of the path. At the next intersection, leave the side paths and continue on the very marked route.

(2) Take the path on the right (picnic area on the right). Lead to a cross path.

(3) Turn left. Pass in front of the well. Arriving at the next intersection, take a hairpin turn on the left. Leave the old rails and wagons on the right, vestiges of the 20th century.
At the next intersection, turn right, leave the start on the right. Pass a clearing and arrive at a crossroads of 3 paths.

(4) Make a slight right-left, before the clearing where a forge and a replica of a blast furnace have been installed, take the first path on the left. Leave a path on the left to reach a crossroads taken on the way out.

(3) Turn left, forget a start on the right and arrive at the entrance crossroads into Le Ferrier.

(1) Turn left. Return to the path taken on the way out and come out on Rue Carreau. Go down this street and in front of the church gate, turn right. Head back towards the bridge and reach the starting car park (D/A).
