Description

The departure of this circuit is from the Place de la Liberté (Tourist Office).

(D/A) Leave along Avenue de la Gare lined with plane trees. At the fire station, turn right, walk alongside a small pond following Chemin du Tacot. Join the Route de Cosne at the west exit of Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye.

(1) Cross this road with caution. Start immediately on the left path then immediately turn onto the right one. Shortly after joining the Route de Donzy, go on the left.

(2) At an electricity pylon, turn right and follow the path under the forest. Shortly before the garage, turn left and end up on the D955.

(3) Go to the left, keeping the left shoulder. At the first intersection, turn left and enter the hamlet of Les Mottes. At the cross street, turn right. Walk alongside the old Mottes pottery with its chimney on the left.

(4) At the exit onto the D955, cross with caution, turn left and immediately after, right in the direction of Argenoux. Cross this hamlet, keeping the main street. Cross the bridge spanning the Vrille and turn left onto the first path. Walk alongside a beautiful pond, then turn to the right.

(5) Carefully cross the D957 and climb Chemin de la Chapelle towards Biron Blanc.

(6) At the intersection with side paths, take the one on the right and go down this one surrounded by hedges. It continues widening and ends at the Lamberts.

(7) Continue straight ahead along the tarmac road, letting the right and left access roads pass. After around 200m, the route ends in a sunken path lined with hedges and trognes.

(8) Cut the road and return to the path opposite to reach a new road to cross, making a slight left/right. Continue along the path. At the Carrefour des Potiers (works of artists), go straight on. Cross a tarmac road, pass in front of a cabin housing compilations of press cuttings.
Cross the Ruisseau de la Maladrerie (old wash house on the left).

(9) Cross the D2 with caution and head into Rue Creuse almost opposite. Turn into the first street on the left (Rue des Anseuses). At the intersection with Faubourg des Potiers, go down to the right.
At the main crossroads (Carrefour Carriès), cross with caution to join the Grande Rue. Cross a first arm of the river and then the Vrille to reach the starting point (D/A).
