Description

The start of this hike is from the upper car park of the Parly multipurpose hall.

(D/A) From this car park, where the entrance to the multipurpose room is located, take the Chemin du Tacot in front of you without taking the road on which you have just arrived. Continue this path for 500m, it is bordered by oaks, lime trees and acacias. At the crossroads of 4 paths, take the middle path. It ends on a tarmac road which you must follow to the right. Cross the bridge which crosses the Tholon.

(1) At the entrance to the curve, 50m before the house, turn onto the forest path on the left. Follow a sandy sunken path uphill. Note the carpet of leaves and chestnut bugs.
At one point, a barrier on the left prohibits passage on the path traced on the map. Continue on the only hollow path available but not carried on the IGN edition.

(2) On the left, an embankment lined with ferns, on the right a staircase of four long steps which allows you to admire the century-old chestnut trees (educational panel).
Go back down the stairs and take the sunken path uphill then veer a little further to the left onto the wide hiking path (the path on the right ends in a field).

(3) Arrive on a side road. On the left, an electrical transformer, opposite a sign indicating Center d'Art Graphique La Métairie Bruyère (this place can be visited 250m on your left). Take the dirt road located opposite your arrival.
Continue to cross a crossroad again: make a left-right bayonet to take a sunken path lined with chestnut leaves. Notice a wart on a tree inside the woods on the left, then a wooden chalet on the right. At a new educational sign, observe the large chestnut tree on the right. Resume the course of this hike and follow the fence of a property.

(4) At the end of this fence, turn right in a hairpin and follow the path which goes down (educational sign 50m on the left). Continue and go down a road at a place called Les Robinots.

(5) Turn left and cross the hamlet, continuing along the main street. At the Rue de la Bréotte sign (about 300m further), take the hairpin path to the right before the first house located on the hill. This path is bordered by meadows, on the right and on the left. Near a horned pollarded ash, again an educational sign facing a superb chestnut tree on your left.

Then through a small wood, the path narrows, continue. At the intersection with a main road, turn left. Magnificent chestnut trees look out over you on the left (educational sign at the end of the embankment). Turn left at the next crossroads, then continue towards the houses of the hamlet of Petit Arran. Continue on the road until the Stop sign. Continue for approximately 80m.

(6) Take Chemin des Ocriers on the right. Leave the wastewater treatment plant on your right, cross a wood. On the descent, take the path on your left (right path not mentioned on the map). Cross a street on a small bridge. The path goes back up, reaching a field bordered by a path. Take this path to the right, then enter a wooded area and follow a sunken path. In the distance, on the right, the pond can be seen.
Continue and arrive at Parly, pond on the right, view of the church on the left.

At the road, turn left to reach the starting point (D/A).
