Route details
Description
Departure: Etang de la Tuilerie car park.
This route starts from the Etang de la Tuilerie and can be divided into two parts to be done in the order described or according to the arrival time, reverse to start with part 2 (depending on the light).
First part :
(D/A) Take the right bank of the pond leaving the car park and follow it until the intersection with a small road.
(8) Turn around and retrace your steps, the light will reveal a completely different spectacle on the bushes and submerged surfaces.
Back at the starting point, start of the second part.
Take the dike to the end.
(1) Take the path which runs alongside the gutter located on your right. Continue until the intersection with the road you will cross (D64).
Turn left and pass over the dyke of the Cahauderie pond.
(2) At the end of the dike, take the second path on the right which passes through the undergrowth. Quite wide at the beginning, it narrows just at the level of the Croix Sainte-Marie (located in the bushes on the left hand side, after the barriers).
Continue through this undergrowth to reach a crossroads of dirt roads and a bridge spanning the channel.
(3) At this crossroads, turn left - the channel will be on your right. Follow to cross streams or marshes twice depending on the season. After the bridge, take the path on the left - the channel will be on the right again. Walk along the Blondeaux pond (known as Beaurois) for a large part to arrive at the dike which you will be keen to take back and forth in order to have a complete view of this pond.
(4) Coming back from this round trip, turn left and follow the channel which will be on your right.
(5) Cross the road (D64) and continue to follow, like a handrail, the channel which will be permanently on your right.
(6) At the exit of the woods, at the crossroads, leave this path and the right-hand channel to take the path on the left which runs along a channel which will be on your left.
Pass in front of the Rosier pond where many ducks nest. Continue by entering the undergrowth again to reach the Château pond. Pass over the dike of this pond (the -private- castle will be on your right).
(7) Arrive at the road, turn right to take it for approximately 400 m along the castle wall. Turn left onto the dirt road.
(1) Take the Etang de la Tuilerie embankment again to its end to find the car park (D/A).
