Walk in Perreuse

At the bend of a path at the exit of Perreuse towards Treigny, a path in the hollow of the countryside takes you to the foot of the Marlée washhouse where a spring flows. It is shaded, it is a place of peace surrounded by nature.

wooded path in the countryside

Marked hike No. 21. Very nice route for a short family hike passing in front of the Puisaye cathedral, discovery of the Vrille at the very beginning of its route with crossing the ford on a small stone bridge (the springs are a few hundred meters away).

A sunset

At the exit of Treigny, near the Hameau de Vrilly, there is a field. But not just any one! A large green meadow dotted with trees and fruit trees. But that's not all ! This field overlooks the valley, the view is magnificent all the way to the horizon. At the end of the day, in winter as in summer, we hurry to grab a large glass of syrup full of ice cubes or a thermos of hot tea, we walk a few hundred meters and we contemplate! At the very end there, the sun sets gently in pink, yellow and orange reflections; in the calm.

Marked hike No. 25. Vast reading of the landscape going from Forterre to Puisaye flying over the crests of Morvan, Sancerrois and the Loire valley. This walk offers, with a little difference in altitude, in addition to this reading of the landscape, to delve into the history of this village with its picturesque houses and the Sully lime tree.

Walk in Treigny

Stroll starting from the hamlet of Cours in Sainpuits along the paths between the fields and the woods depending on the season. We pick blackberries or nuts! To reach the heights of Perreuse overlooking the valley.

Marked hike No. 22. Passing through the Puisaye Cathedral, a tour of the heights to discover vast horizons, alternating landscapes of great culture and forests, dotted with springs. And then, Perreuse, a magnificent village with a very rich history.

His love for Puisaye

La Puisaye, I was born there, I grew up there, I studied there, and I have worked there for 14 years. This territory is dear to my heart, I have all my memories there.

Saint-Fargeau? Place where I lived all my childhood

On the castle square, I remember cycling, rollerblading and especially going to buy sweets at the little grocer. Sweet memory. Summers are also the memory of historical spectacle of the Château de Saint-Fargeau, coaches, cars parked everywhere and in all directions in the streets of Saint-Fargeau. Then the final bouquet of the show, the firework resonated in my small village and traffic jams were created as the spectators left. For 20 years, every summer, every weekend, Saint Fargeau vibrated to the sounds of the show and it goes on and on.

My second adopted town, Saints-en-Puisaye

I lived in this town for 13 years. Passionate about hiking, I explored every corner of it. It offers a beautiful and preserved nature.

Its paths are typical of Puisaye: very wooded, sometimes very humid, “bouchues” with their faces, fields as far as the eye can see, streams, and ponds. You can also take a little trip to the Lapwing Mill and discover animals living in complete freedom, a marsh classified as a remarkable natural site…

In August, the Harvest Festival takes place, which has been going on for more than 30 years, where we discover, among other things, ancient agricultural professions. You can taste Fras (cheese tart), black pudding and bread cooked over a wood fire. I still remember visitors asking me throughout the day but “what is frass?” »

Recently, I left Yonne but not really Puisaye…

I settled in Bouhy in Nièvre, a small village neighboring Puisaye which peaks at 355 meters. The landscape remains familiar, however what is striking in this village is the panorama that he offers. From Bouhy, we can see Treigny, Étais-la-Sauvin, Sainpuits, Entrains-sur-Nohain, the Jussy quarries in Ciez and well beyond. A breathtaking view of this magnificent territory! I regularly practice hiking but also cycling. I still have many things to discover in my little village. THE Moulin Blot is one of the known sites of the commune, just like the Sainte-Anne Chapel. There are also numerous wash houses at the bend of a path. I love my territory, I love Puisaye-Forterre. I appreciate being able to share my nature photos with people who have the same sensitivity. Let's savor the simple pleasures that life offers us.
