The connoisseurs of good deals, the lovers of simple pleasures, these are them! They reveal them to you because in Puisaye, we love sharing! We are lucky to live here!
Germain’s croissants!
More than 30 years since I last ate REAL PURE BUTTER PASTRIES, delirium of happiness. The croissant with the crispy ends and the butter... I speak about it with full knowledge of the facts, I'm the neighbor and everything is homemade the old-fashioned way (he works at night, you won't come across Germain during the day).

A secret garden
La Magie des Sens in Saint Amand lives up to its name. In a bohemian and romantic garden dotted with pottery and with a wonderful lying kiln, a potter welcomes you into her home to offer you local products flavored with local or distant herbs. Two or three tables, two starters, main courses and desserts and the magic happens under the stars.

Baptiste and Fanny, producers of Punk's pinot dead natural wine
Natural wine is adventure! On one side, Baptiste, who claims to be a farmer and producer of free wines, and Fanny potter, who makes magnificent Puisaye sandstone bottles, precisely to accommodate Baptiste's wine! They will both tell you about their love for their territory, traditions and respect for natural products. Taste their different wines in 3 colors, between Pinot and Chardonnay. Wines that change according to the harvests, the weather, the seasons. A fruity, slightly sparkling wine, which exudes the terroir, without junk or hoopla. A great surprise !

Enjoy a croque-monsieur with the most beautiful view of the lake!
You are simply welcomed into an old tavern that every resident has visited one day. Taste the croque-monsieur and enjoy a generous dessert on the terrace with the only view, the Lac du Bourdon, and not only unique but the most beautiful!

A good chardo!
Go to Arnaud at the Cave de Toucy at 660 Avenue du Général de Gaulle. Arnaud was a sommelier at the starred restaurant La Côte Saint Jacques in Joigny, he knows what he is talking about and highlights our local wines. Ask for a bottle of Chardonnay from Domaine Houblin (in 2015 if possible!). Or head directly to Migé (20 minutes from Toucy) to meet the winemaker directly! Contact before going there.
Go to the market and have a picnic
In the center of the city, under the Market Hall, producers and traders set up early on Sunday morning! For a nice picnic, take your bread from the farm baker Fabien Marroy which has just come out of the oven. Grab some vegetables to munch on from the Perreux gardens, buy a juicy chicken from the roaster, before stopping by to see the incredible selection of the cheese maker. For a dessert that changes, the melting honey madeleines from Bruno Bogaert from Saint Martin sur Ouanne. For the picnic spot, head to the leisure pond: go to the right, between the two footbridges spanning the Ouanne, a perfect and confidential little place!

Gougères and Chablis
At around 11:30 a.m., head to Sucré-Salé 89, located in Toucy – 5, Rue Emile Genêt. To take a large gougère (multiplied by the number of people you are) and go and enjoy a Chablis on the terrace, at the Bistrot de l'Atelier located right next door at 2 place de République. Saturday morning, market day, is even more lively, but more rare to find a good place!

Jean-Christophe, the bearded man from Point Bar
Have a drink with the cheeky JC in this old hotel, especially sit on the interior terrace with a view of the hotel passageway, a beautiful board of cheese sausages to accompany a glass of Chablis!!!

Jacky, a culinary personality from Puisaye
Jacky has been a caterer in Puisaye for quite a few years now. A passionate and exciting person who knows perfectly the culinary history of a place and who is known in local markets. Above all, we come to see him and talk with him. Tall and strong, with a smile on his face, he always has a joke to tell you at his stand. Its fras tart, made with fresh cheese, is excellent to enjoy with a salad. But also its dandelion jam which is really crazy in the morning on hot toast.
